I used it for the past few days to burn a few dvd+r's and those burned ok, but when I changed to dvd-r's things didn't go so well. I just received an error and a few messed up disks. If not - try another brand of media. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Sony/DW-Q58A/files.html Also check in the FAQ forum to see if DMA is enabled. The write rates are very low. After updating the firmware, I tried again, but still got the same results. I'm going to look into what media I goes well with this drive and get some tomorrow. Thanks again for the help Cynthia.
