Furial
Hello everyone. This is the first time i'm using ImgBurn and i'm trying to burn Windows 7. I followed the "How to create a Windows Vista / 7 installation disc using ImgBurn" guide on this website. My writer is a Plextor PX-716A and the DVD i used was from TDK. "TDK, DVD-R, 1-16x speed |4.7 GB" Here's the log and further apologies if i parsed more than needed. The error part happens at 22:54:44. I 22:49:18 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! Cynthia
Perhaps try a lower write speed as 4-8x.

Cynthia
If you haven't used the burner for a long time it could be worth a try with a cleaning disc. The laser head might be dusty.
Furial
Again, after some reading i've read the same 5 minutes ago on another thread. I haven't burn a DVD for about 6 months so it might be that. But how do I clean it? Do I need to open the hardware piece? Is there any tutorial or anything at all? I haven't ever cleaned a burner. EDIT: Will I also need to use again a new blank disk? Edited February 27, 2010 by Furial
Furial
Tried the following with no success: # Disable IMAPI Service (Work's in most cases): 1. Launch Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services . 2. Browse for "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service", Right-click on it and select properties. 3. Chnage Startup Type to Disabled. From what i found, cleaning the burner is my last option. As previously asked, is there any tutorial on how to do it properly by yourself?
Cynthia
Easiest is to get one of those cleaning disc they sell in shops. Another test could be to get some more quality branded discs. Using denatured Alcohol and that thing you use to clean ears with is also an option.
