Paolo_R Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I've just used DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn to burn backups of 4 DVD video titles. I used Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL blanks and neither piece of software indicated any errors in the process. I tried the first burnt DVD in my player (Sony) and it plays for a while (varying times) then freezes and goes back to the start point. I tried it a couple of times and, although the freeze point varies, the DVD goes back to the point from where playing started. Any ideas? Software?> Media? Player? At the moment it looks like I may have 4 coasters.

IMgBUrn did its job correctly.. it burned your DVD... anyways, i may tell u to use a 3rd party decrypting tool to remove copy protections of a DVD Movie.... and then burn it... but i wont go in details as this is ImgBurn's forum,,,

Thanks - OK, I've attached the logs. This was my first use of ImgBurn so - in the absence of any obvious error messages - I didn't realise there might be a need to explicitly save the logs.

I tried one of the burnt DVDs on my PC DVD drive (the one I used to burn them) and they read fine without slipping. My Sony player plays other dual layer DVDs fine so I presume this implies the burn quality was not good enough for my Sony player. I'm pretty certain my burner has the most up to date firmware - is there any utility which would tell me the firmware version number? try burning at 6x and 4x to see if turns out better; I'll give this a try. Presumably slower (4x) would be better than faster (6x)? get a new burner that does good burns on those Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL blanks you have. Any ideas for a replacement burner which satisfies this criterion? Thanks for your help so far.

Yes, I discovered this after exploring some of the options of ImgBurn. What I can't find out is what new/additional features the firmware version 1.02 adds over version 1.01. Is there any source to find this out? Thanks.
