DaveBurner
I'm getting what would seem to be a spurious "Unable to find any cells that could be used for the layer break" message. The Log says... W 22:45:36 Unable to find any cells that could be used for the layer break! W 22:45:36 The layer break must be between sectors 1,551,254 and 2,086,912. W 22:45:36 Sector 1,551,254 falls within VTS_01 (Title), which starts at sector 97,847. W 22:45:36 Relative to the start of VTS_01 (Title), the layer break must be between sectors 1,453,407 and 1,989,065. W 22:45:36 Relative sector 1,453,407 falls within PGC 1, Cell 10, which starts at relative sector 1,337,047. W 22:45:36 Relative to the start of Cell 10, try splitting between sectors 116,360 (227.27 MB) and 652,018 (1,273.47 MB). According to VobBlanker VTS_01, Cell 10 starts at Sector 1,337,047 & ends at 1,580,217 (243,170 relative), thats a duration of 9:36.20, so breaking between Cells 10 & 11 should not be a problem. The DVD is altogether only 6.93 GB. ImgBurn seems to think Cell 10 is much longer than it actually is. Best regards, Dave Burner

LIGHTNING UK!
Ok, that didn't really tell me anything I wanted to know... that's not your fault though. There must be something about Cell 11 which makes it unsuitable / unavailable. Please repeat the process of attempting to create an image based on that same content, but before you click the 'Build' button, press the key. Then save the log to a file and upload it please - it'll contain additional debug info.

DaveBurner
I can't find an 'Advanced' -> 'Media' tab in my version (v2.5.0.0). (only found 'Dates', 'Restrictions' & 'Bootable Disc' under 'Advanced') Have looked around under Settings, but still no 'Media' tab. Where exactly did you mean? (but apart from that, have not fiddled with settings)

LIGHTNING UK!
You only get the media tab when not burning direct to disc. Ok so now please copy + paste everything from the disc information box on the 'Device' tab when you have that DL disc in the drive. If it weren't for that random/invalid 'MinL0DataZoneCapacity' value, I'm sure it would be working fine - and that value is coming from the drive/disc. LIGHTNING UK!
None of this is making any sense. The 'MinL0DataZoneCapacity' value comes from the drive when the DVD+R DL boundary info say 'Changeable: No' and that's not the case here. As a fall back, it gets its value from half the size of the image - because L0 must be greater than or equal to L1 in size. That exact value isn't displayed but it's used to make the 'MaxPadding' one. (MaxPadding = MaxCapacity - SectorsTotal) So SectorsTotal = MaxCapacity - MaxPadding. Therefore, SectorsTotal = 3638165 and half of that would only be (rounding up to the next multiple of 16) 1819088. Obviously 1819088 does not equal 2092896 which is the value that particular build operation was using. With the same files, correct drive selected and that disc in the drive, the build *should* work fine and you shouldn't be getting the 'MinL0DataZoneCapacity' shown in your initial log. Please do switch the 'Output' to 'Image File' instead of 'Device' and take a look at that 'Advanced' -> 'Media' tab I mentioned. EDIT: Ah crap, I see the issue. You've (at some point) set the 'Double Layer' profile on the 'Advanced' -> 'Media' tab to 'DVD-R DL' and that's messing things up. Switch it back to DVD+R DL and you're good to go. DaveBurner
Thanks, thats just what the doctor ordered. Wouldn't it make sense to just use the properties of the physical media?
LIGHTNING UK!
lol yes, and it was... except for one bit where the logic let it down! I fixed it when I mentioned the 'Ah crap, I see the issue' bit See, the basic config comes from the info in the Media tab, the info from the disc then overwrites it. It's done that way in case people try to 'Calculate' without a (or with a non empty) disc in the drive. I was only overwriting the basic (i.e. from the 'Media' tab) 'Min L0 Data Zone Capacity' value if the LB was in a fixed position on the disc (as would be the case with a DVD-R DL disc) - turns out I also needed to reset it back to zero if it wasn't.
