A while back I successfully used build & burn to burn a VIDEO_TS folder to DVD. I must have just got very lucky that time, because I have just tried another and successfully made two... coasters  I have used the VIDEO_TS.IFO file and the VIDEO_TS.VOB file. I could just go for a set of three and try to VIDEO_TS.BUP file but I figured I'd swallow my pride and ask. I did try to search for this, but couldn't find anything so far...

So... ummm... help, please!

Post the log of one of those burns so that we can see what you're doing (look in ImgBurn's Help menu for the previous logs).

Doesn't look like you're burning a DVD-Video compliant structure. Have you tried DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD?

Posted

I have used the VIDEO_TS.IFO file and the VIDEO_TS.VOB file. I could just go for a set of three and try to VIDEO_TS.BUP file

Why do you not add the full DVD structure/folder?

Now you have added a tiny file and the menu movie file. That's not a full DVD Movie. You can't just add what you like, all files most be there.

All the files are present in the VIDEO_TS folder, but I thought that last time I did build & burn by choosing just one of those files.

If I just burn the whole VIDEO_TS folder (and all its contents) to the DVD, should that give me a playable DVD? The file in the folder are shown in the attached image file:

I haven't yet, only because I did successfully burn one like this a while nack using ImgBurn solo. Looks like I'm starting to get it now though (though goodness knows how I managed it before - beginner's luck I guess)

Yes, add all the files and and it will work. :)

Somehow I thought that last time, I just selected one of the files and all the rest just were pulled in. Like I said to mmalves, I have actually know idea *what* I did that time, that made it work.

Final query then (I think)... when you say, add all the files, do I burn them within the VIDEO_TS folder (that is, do I burn the folder as well?)... ot do I burn the set of files directly to the DVD?

If you add the files within the VIDEO_TS folder, ImgBurn will create the VIDEO_TS folder you on the final burned disc. You can also just add the VIDEO_TS folder. The result is the same.

This guide should help you.

Thanks, Cynthia and mmalves... it burned perfectly now. That guide is excellent. I had searched the guide before posting but somehow didn't come across that thread. Oh well... bookmarked it now!
