HingedM0nster Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Hi guys, have been burning a few dual layers lately and have some how managed to coaster 4 out of 6 discs already . Not exactly sure what the problem is, checked around on a few forums etc. but can't seem to find a solution. The problem usually occurs during verification but now it's happening during the write. I'm using Verbatims Manufactured in Singapore Anyway, here's the latest log: I 20:37:49 ImgBurn Version 2.5.1.0 started! You could also try with the 2.4x Verbatim blanks if you can find them. Another option is to get a new burner, but if you decide to do this, try crossflashing your burner to its real SH-S183A model to see if write quality improves.
HingedM0nster Posted March 27, 2010 Author Posted March 27, 2010 Dust-Off your Burner using a DVD LENS CLEANER Will this actually make much of a difference? I've not had any trouble with RWs. Would also like to mention that in previous attempts ImgBurn has failed to match the write speed. Could it be something I'm doing/not doing?

mmalves Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Try cleaning the burner with a lens cleaning disc. Also try burning at 6x. If it still doesn't work then you could try crossflashing or buying a new burner that has better support for your blanks.

Yeah that has been previously suggested so I think I'll go ahead and try cleaning the lens. Any reccomendations or are those things pretty generic? Thanks
Cynthia Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 There are two types. One that can play some sound checks and one that just cleans the lens. No need to buy the first more expensive type.
