Write rate goes up and down, up and down

I've burned thousands of movies, and now all of a sudden I cant burn any iso's... Buffer and Device Buffer stay at 100%, but the write rate goes up to 2.4x for a few seconds, then down to zero... then up to 2.4x, then back to zero again... it repeats this throughout the entire burn, and finally after about an hour it "successfully" completes the burn, but the dvd will not work in any player... I've tried reinstalling imgburn, various write speeds, and increasing the buffer size... nothing works.. however it works perfectly fine when I run in test mode. My computer is brand new, and never had a problem like this before, any ideas? Thanks in advance

Upload the IBG file from such a burn - or open it yourself in one of the supported programs and post a screenshot.

If the buffers are full and test mode is ok, it would suggest it's an issue between your drive and the media you're using.

Post a log next time please - as per the pink box up the top :chair:

Well I cant burn with imgburn, but I can with other software and completes perfectly fine and works in my dvd player.. thats good enough for me...

Also, I can still burn DL dvds, but still cant burn iso to dvdr.. this is something that just started for some reason.. I use to burn the exact same media in the exact same drive and never had a problem.. I dont get it..
