mek87
Hey guys, First post at the forums here but have been a huge imgburn fan for years. Here's my issue: I went away for two weeks and came back to find that my burner, an old LG GSA-4163B, no longer wants to burn DVD+R DL's. It was working fine a week ago with the exact same media. While I was gone, there were a few power outages during which the PC was on but it has a surge protector and has been through such events before. I'm really baffled as to why this just started happening, in particular with an image that I had previously successfully burned a few short weeks ago. Before I post the error and the log, here are some things I tried, etc. 1) I am using Fujifilm DVD+R DLs. Yes, I know they are Riteks, and i know that Verbatim's are the best. However, I tried Verbatim's and my XBox 360 drive didn't seem to like them - games were choppy and freezing. It has, however, loved the countless number of backups I have made on the Fuji's. 2) I updated my firmware to A106 and still no joy 3) I uninstalled my ATA controller and had let it reinstall, no joy. Also checked the bios, drive is set to DMA mode 2 Now for the errors/log: I click burn and immediately, before the drive even does anything get: "Failed to set L0 Data Zone Capacity! Reason: Invalid Field in Parameter List" Never seen that before today but for the sake of science, I click continue. "I/O Error! Device: [1:0:0] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B A106 (E:) (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 2A 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 20 00 Interpretation: Write (10) - Sectors: 32 - 63 Sense Area: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 10 2A 00 00 0E 21 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Invalid Address for Write" I click cancel. LIGHTNING UK!
Update ImgBurn. Don't re-use a disc that's already failed once. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
