Completed burn comes out empty

Hi,

 

Just looking for some help.

 

System config:

System: Windows 7 64-bit

Memory: 4gb

ImgBurn 2.5.2.0

Drive: TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-T633A DW20

Media: CMC MAG. AM3 (Max Speed 8x)

 

I have been attempting to burn single layer DVD-R without success. What would happen is that the burn would start, the speed will very slowly fluctuate up to 2.4x then drop down to 0x again and then start the fluctuating cycle all over again up to a max of 2.4x despite the media's rating of 8x.

 

The net result is 50 minutes for a standard 4GB DVD-R burn, after which the verify completely fails with the message "Verify Failed! - Reason: Layouts do not match."

 

The disc is then magically and frustatingly EMPTY on the disc info window in ImgBurn.

 

I have used this media without issues before burning at 8x, this is from the same DVD spindle I bought. I am also able to burn DL DVD+R without issues.

 

I would greatly appreciate any help I can get.

Did you try burning it a second/third time on a new disc?

 

Your drive just messed up on that one.

 

If it does the same again on a different disc, try cleaning the drive.

 

Failing that, get some better media.
