DVDs with jumpy playback

I am curious what the cause of this is?

I always burn with ImgBurn, and I noticed especially when there are warnings about waiting for the buffer to refill, the DVDs sometimes get choppy near the end, and unwatchable.

Is this something that would be detected using the Verify option?

If you have buffering issues, something about your machine is too slow to provide sufficient data to the drive for the selected write speed.

Maybe you're using the hard drive for something else at the same time or it's just slow in general.

If the discs are stuttering, it's just as corny said. Cheap discs might appear to produce successful burns but they can be really low quality burns - which in turn makes them hard to read.

Some players will have more luck at reading (playing) badly burnt discs than others.
