greyfox Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I read the topic below that asks about the drive not recognizing discs and those issues do not apply to me. I have to DVD burning drives one is a Samsung and the second a Sony. The Samsung drive is used to burn DL discs but whenever I insert a blank dual layer disc my drives uninstall and reinstall according to the IMGBurn log. ianymaty Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 That could indicate a bad/lose data cable or faulty drive or drivers Update chipset/storage drivers. If it's not go away check/replace the cable. Try to move the drive to other port if available. Also update ImgBurn.
greyfox Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 I tried checking the cables. LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Looks like it's just having a hard time reading the sectors. Samsung drives seem to give up after 10 seconds, hence the 'timeout'. As for why it's having a hard time reading them... well that's covered in here: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
