ianymaty Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Do you have a disc inserted in the drive? What disc is it, DVD, CD, manufacturer? What it say in the status line at the bottom of the main window? If you take the disc out, is it changing that line? P.S. You should take in consideration upgrading Vista to SP2.
weegie Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 hi, i do have a cd in the drive. it is a maxell cd-r and i can copy other files to these without any problems e.g. audio, mpeg etc. i have upgraded to sp2 and here is the new log file: I 15:44:13 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! I 15:44:13 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic Edition (6.0, Build 6002 : Service Pack 2) I 15:44:13 Total Physical Memory: 1,038,872 KB - Available: 321,012 KB W 15:44:13 Drive G:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. W 15:44:13 Duplex Secure's SPTD driver can have a detrimental effect on drive performance. I 15:44:13 Initialising SPTI... I 15:44:13 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 15:44:14 -> Drive 1 - Info: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7561A GH09 (D:) (ATA) I 15:44:14 -> Drive 2 - Info: XUHGHWP 9I3OTQJ0PM 1.03 (F:) (SCSI) I 15:44:14 Found 1 DVD±RW/RAM and 1 BD-ROM/HD DVD-ROM! i still get the same error message.
weegie Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 forgot to reply to this bit: "What it say in the status line at the bottom of the main window? If you take the disc out, is it changing that line?" ########## the status line says 'ready' and then i take disc out it says 'device not ready - medium not present - tray open'
mmalves Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Are you sure what you have is an ISO image? Try opening it with 7-Zip / WinRAR to see if it isn't a compressed archive that contains the disc image inside.
weegie Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 solved! turns out the file i was trying to copy was not an iso file after all. d'oh !!!! thanks for the input though.
