tophawk Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hi I have had six discs fail to burn today using a Samsung burner with the latest firmware revision The burn speed does come up to 8x I am using Ritek GO5 8x and have done for some years without a failure Is there anyway the log file would give a clue as to whether the issue is with the burner or the media? spinningwheel Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Try 4X speed and if it doesn't work get some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim discs.
tophawk Posted March 22, 2011 Author Posted March 22, 2011 @spinningwheel Yep - I tried the 4 speed and got the odd failure I have used this brand for many years without a dud :--\ I guess the log file doesn't indicate what has failed here? (the drive or the media) Cheers
ianymaty Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 If you burned that type of discs in that drive, try a lens cleaner. Try what spinningwheel recommends. If all fails buy a new drive.
