Only MPEG file in Video_TS folder

Hi guys,

 

I just converted a mkv file using Aura Video Converter (similar software as Any Video Converter). For the product it gave me only a Video_TS folder (no Audio_TS folder) with only a MPEG file inside (softkoolvn.net_tuchie-nmacarong-imbt_mpeg2video). I read on google that you need more files inside the Video_TS folder (e.g. VOB, IFO, or BUP etc.) in order to get it burn correctly. So could I still burn with only this MPEG file and play it safely (without image or audio messing up) on any home dvd player?

 

I'm very new to this. If there are any more additional information that I needed to know before I go ahead and burn, please let me know. Thank you ahead for your time guys.

 

****Edit >>> My mistake, the product wasn't a Video_TS folder, but only a DVD_NTSC folder with the MPEG file inside (softkoolvn.net_tuchie-nmacarong-imbt_mpeg2video). Thanks again.

Use DVD Flick, DVDStyler or ConvertXtoDVD to convert your mkv to a proper DVD-Video structure.

Yes, you will need VOB and IFO files in your VIDEO_TS folder in order for it to play on standalone DVD players. I've no idea why the software you mentioned would say it converts video container files to standard compliant DVD's and not create VOB and IFO files. (The .BUP are really useless as far as I can tell as they're just backups of the .IFO files, but, apparently, the DVD standard requires them. Go figure.)

 

 

I use ConvertXToDVD, but, if you're going to buy and use that software, I have one comment you need to know. The default options for the software are that the resulting volume level on the DVD will blow out your eardrums! Don't know why they do that, but, I recommend changing the volume level in the options to Soft, something like 54%. You can set manual levels so you may want to test some discs and see what level you like.
