Exact audio burn from multi-file cue/flac

Recommended Posts

Hi there !

Hum, just for reporting a little problem with burning multi flac cue.

I used to wrote cue files from audio and mixed cds with flac audio and bin 2352.

I compare layout from original cd and image, they match.

So I decide to burn one to test.

But I notice that audio track didn't match to image layout when they are burned.

Example :

My cue file :

REM SESSION 01
 TRACK 07 AUDIO
   ISRC FRY680300138
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
…

When I click to view image information before burn it, here what I have :

post-41638-0-42534400-1332084077.jpg

So, it was OK (match to media info from original cd)

But when I burn this image, here the result:

Session 1... (LBA: 0 / 00:02:00)
-> Track 01  (Audio, 02:30:41, LBA: 0 / 00:02:00)
-> Track 02  (Audio, 03:37:45, LBA: 11291 / 02:32:41)
-> Track 03  (Audio, 03:45:24, LBA: 27611 / 06:10:11)
-> Track 04  (Audio, 02:58:46, LBA: 44510 / 09:55:35)
-> Track 05  (Audio, 03:45:39, LBA: 57906 / 12:54:06)
-> Track 06  (Audio, 03:33:33, LBA: 74820 / 16:39:45)
-> Track 07  (Audio, 03:05:37, LBA: 90828 / 20:13:03)
-> Track 08  (Audio, 03:31:44, LBA: 104740 / 23:18:40)
-> Track 09  (Audio, 03:39:15, LBA: 120609 / 26:50:09)
-> Track 10  (Audio, 03:46:13, LBA: 137049 / 30:29:24)
-> Track 11  (Audio, 03:12:34, LBA: 154012 / 34:15:37)
-> Track 12  (Audio, 03:24:40, LBA: 168446 / 37:27:71)
…

Was it possible technicaly to burn this image with same track length ?

It was little problematic when I have mode2 data track at the end because sectors aren't good.

Tested in SAO/DAO and TAO (just to test, because TAO can't burn that, right ?)

Test with two burners (plex premium and liteon iHBS212).

Hi Lightning UK,

Indeed, just before burning cd, imgburn take some seconds to analyse audio files.

So there are 2 lenght, one reported by directshow filter, another calculated by img burn, right ?

Well, the "image information" screen look good concerning length (good because cue with bin files just before flac conversion length are the same with flac conversion, and thoses lengths are the same as original cd).

Flac are encoded by original flac stand alone encoder, with max compression parameter.

What is the problem ? bad flac file ?

Thank you for your reply ^^

ImgBurn doesn't really 'calculate' the length, it just feeds the flac to directshow and totals up the amount of data it spews out the other end.

If you aren't getting out exactly what you put in (length wise - wav -> flac -> wav), there must be a problem with your directshow filter.
