===================

I decided to change the DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM under Lite-on since there is no option for HP

and I get ERROR there is no field in CDB.

==================================

Opened up the laptop and found the model number on the device

HP

BD Combo Drive

Model : DC-6E2SH (15-T)

a quick search on google find Ds-6E2SH model used by Dell that is made by Lite ON technology so I almost certain this is a Lite ON

===========================

Edit #3

found this setting utility

http://club.myce.com/f44/settings-utility-liteon-dvd-writers-v1-2-1-a-241940/#.UIR59sXA81V

that shows that my drive is set to change the booktype for everything to DVD-ROM

will give it a run now...

I included all the info I could to 1st post for others .. so hope it helps...

if you have HP laptop most probably it is under Lite-On technology and the newer laptops automatically change booktype to DVD ROM
