I/O Error on attempting to close a Disc

Hello, I'm trying to Finalize several TDK DVD-R 1.4GB discs. The discs contain footage of my engagement, and my subsequent marriage.

My brother in law filmed the footage of both events with a Sony Handycam using the small DVDs I mentioned earlier.

I know that the discs have data on them, but they are not readable in any device due to them never being finalized. In fact I found this program while searching for solutions and it seems like a good option.

I'm assuming I go to Tools>Drive>Close>Disc, but upon selecting the option, I get the attached error.

Can't you use the camcorder to close the discs?

That error indicate that the drive don't like the disc.

The order you need to attempt would be as listed Close > Track... Session... Disc.
