Help--randomly stopped burning

Sabotage

Recommended Posts

I have been burning DVD for karate school and randomly started making coasters today...4 in row.  My total burn count this year is 150+ so I know everything works....not one bad burn until today.

I burned 20 discs as well as lightscribed them all yesterday...I run 4 lightscribe discs, then burn data 2 drives at time.

My raid0 is fast but not enough to run 4 DVD burns.

-----------

Today I install java update 51 then later burned 12 lightscribes, went on to burn the data....no joy. I have 4 coasters now. I went into nero dvd-rom and burned there successfully....just like ImgBurn better.

Your drive is just generally moaning about what's being asked of it.

Is it just 1 of the 4 drives that's failing to burn?

Here's what I'd try (make 1 change at a time until it works again)...

1. Change the burn speed to 8x.

2. Try enabling the 'perform opc before write' option.

3. Try changing the 'write type' to 'incremental'.

Personally, I'd never use any discs with the low quality 'CMC' MID/dye, but that's your call.
