Everytime I insert a blank DVD, it says Device Not Ready (Logical unit is in process of becoming ready) then reads (No reference position found). I've tried both Maxell DVD-R & Memorex DVD+R. In the Forum it says I probably need new Firmware & better disks. Does new Firmware apply to a Laptop? I'm a computer novice & need all the help I can get! Copy and paste the info from the top right corner of the app in Write mode. As well, look at the Update Your Firmware link in my signature. Change your media to Verbatims or Taiyo Yudens. Just that when I first read "My logical unit" I had some purient ideas there at first. Then, I remembered the logical unit in process of becoming ready dialog. lfcrule1972 Posted October 2, 2006 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Depends what you want to do - if you're looking to write to blank DVDs you will need to change the drive.
