Garyflyer Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 I would like to set book type for subject drive, but I don't know what tab to select. Can anyone help? Thank you, garyflyer.
dbminter Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 If it's anything like my HL BD drive, the HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N A102, in Write mode, right click on the target drive in the drop down list of available drives while it has selected your drive in question. Towards the end, there's a Change Book Type option. Try that and see if that does the trick. I've never used it before so I don't know.
Garyflyer Posted October 23, 2018 Author Posted October 23, 2018 Thanks for your help. I've set the booktype on other DVD burners. The booktype changes the default booktype of DVD+R to DVD-ROM. In the lower right hand corner of the ImgBrn GUI there is a small icon that looks like an open book or you can use the method you describe. In either case you must select a/the tab that corresponds to your drive, i.e. Plextor Ricoh, Samsung, BenQ, LG, LITE-ON, NEC or NuTech. I don't know what HL-DT-ST corresponds to. I have tried all the available tabs, but the command fails. Thanks again, Garyflyer
dbminter Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 HL-DT-ST indicates the drive is an LG. Why the LG tab wouldn't work I couldn't tell you.
Ch3vr0n Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Setting the booktype afaik requires a certain chipset. Just because it's LG doesn't mean it can. It's the same reason why my bh10ns30 can set the booktype but my BH16NS55 can't.Verstuurd vanaf mijn Nexus 6P met Tapatalk
Garyflyer Posted October 24, 2018 Author Posted October 24, 2018 dbminter, Ch3vr0n - thanks for your replies. Yes - HL-DT-ST can be Hitachi/LG. I think what Ch3vr0n says makes sense. thanks again for your replies.
