the olde Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 (edited) burnt at max, now trying the same file at 4x Edited December 1, 2006 by the olde
polopony Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 theres posts all over the place showing that quality drops off after 12X but man thats off a cliff ,I think most of the beta testers are happy with 8X and the quality is excellent
spinningwheel Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I agree w/Polo...8X gives good quality burns on Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden discs...
the olde Posted December 3, 2006 Author Posted December 3, 2006 (edited) the scan using the same media, same iso etc etc. latest firmware, newish drive. burnt at 4x setting and not max like the previous burn. checked a couple of other discs burnt with IMGburn max setting, get the same awful result as my first post? any ideas? polopony Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 are you saying that between the max burn and the 4X burn you updated the firmware if this is so and you want to experiment then try another at max or 8X. Since you haven't posted a log(it should be mandatory) I'm not really sure what the supported write speeds are with your media/drive Quick look at the graph shows the red line (write speed ) maxing out at 8X. look at the speed 8X cav so its not really burned at 4x Again a log would confirm all this stuff like max write speed and average
cornholio7 Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 the red line in the above graph is read speed polo, only in an ibg can you see the write speed

lfcrule1972 Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I can only burn the TYG02's at 8x as that is all my BenQ and NEC show them at. I have never seen a graph like the one at the start of this topic with TYG02's tho.
chewy Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 (edited) for the benq turn on overspeed and turn off wopc, burn at 16x and you might get a bad graph, looks like his disks are faulty towards the outer part you can get some good spikes at 12x with the nec's and L&D's modded firmwares Edited December 4, 2006 by chewy
