Kenadjian
It's all down to drive/firmware/media combination, if the speed you select is not supported by any of them, then the speed will default to the closest thing you selected. Easy way to find out what speed you're drive/media supports is to pop a blank into the drive, select write mode and look in the right hand pane, sample below. HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4120B A117 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD+R Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 2,295,104 Free Space: 4,700,372,992 bytes Free Time: 510:03:29 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 4x, 8x Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Disc ID: MCC-003-00 Book Type: DVD+R Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 In this case, the supported speeds are 4X and 8X this offcourse will change with different media. Here is another that's only supported at 4X. HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4120B A117 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD-R Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 2,297,888 Free Space: 4,706,074,624 bytes Free Time: 510:40:38 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 4x Pre-recorded Information: Manufacturer ID: TTG02 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Book Type: DVD-R Part Version: 5 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,495,103 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0:
lfcrule1972
As donta said, we can see you selected a 2x burn speed but ImgBurn is using 4x which, in the absence of a log leads us to the conclusion that 2x is not supported by your media. polopony
Imgburn reports what the drive/firmware supports .The supported speeds that are reported and you can choose from the speeds with IB. A Google of the Id shows that this media sucks (I've never heard of it )if you want trouble free burning get Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden discs
