How do you finalise a DVD?

Hi,

Im burning a DVD image to a black DVD, and i need to finalise it, however i cant find the finalise option anywhere?

Also, when i choose a certain speed to burn at, it ignores it and burns at the max speed?

(I chose 1x and it burns at 4x)

Any help would be great!

When i am burning it says "Copy: 1 of 1 (Write speed: 1x)" and on the other side of the window "Write Rate: 5,552KB/s (4.0x)

But what i really need is to know how to finalise the dvd, please help, im sitting here wasting dvd's.

Ok first off please post a copy of the log from ImgBurn, that is all the information that appears in the bottom window under the main GUI. That will tell us a bit about the media and its supported write speeds - I am guessing that yours does not support 1x and probably has 4x as the lowest.

As for closing, I think you can do this with ImgBurn open, select the Tools menu and it's one of the options there - you may need to close track before disc if that's available to you, sorry never had to do it manually myself and my memory of reading this in the forum is a little foggy.

Thanks for the reply,

I cant copy the log for you unless i ruin another DVD, but yes you are probably right, 4x must be the lowest.

As for the real issue, thanks again, i was looking for a "finalse" button, but i see the Close > track, session, disc, HOWEVER, when i click any of them i get a I/O error! I have tied with a DVD in and my iso loaded.

any ideas???

Well you need the DVD in the drive that originally displayed the error for it to attempt to close the disc. What I would guess (we still need the log - see below) is that maybe the disc is no good and can't be closed manually.

Log - ImgBurn auto saves the logs now, via the settings you can see where they default save, find this on your PC and then copy paste the log into your next post. I suspect your media might not be the best hence these problems.....

They are cheap DVD's, so if its possible for DVD's to not be "closable" i suppose these would be it.

Anyway, here is the log u showed me how to get, its one when i went through with the full process so it should show everythihgn (including min speed as 4x)
