PajamasInTheDryer Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 The last two DVD's I've tried to make back-up copies get this error message during the building process: Cannot read from file: E:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_7.VOB Reason: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. Anybody have a solution? Thanks!
cornholio7 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 if these discs have copy protection on them , imgburn can't help ypu
mmalves Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 The disc you're copying the files from is dirty and/or scratched. You should try some cleaning kit on it.
PajamasInTheDryer Posted May 5, 2007 Author Posted May 5, 2007 Thanks to both members for replying. I have DVD43 on my PC, and that seems to help with the copy protection problem. I have used ImgBurn a lot, and only with DVD back-ups, and haven't yet had a problem until today. I tried cleaning the one disc, and it still had an error at 9% during the build process. I also went to my friends, borrowed his copy of the same film, and it has just done the same thing at 9%. Should I give up, or does anyone else perhaps have a suggestion for me? Thanks!
mmalves Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 DVD43 could be causing those problems. Are the discs protected? Disable DVD43 and use ImgBurn in Read mode to make an ISO image of your DVD. If you get a 'Read of Scrambled Sector Without Authentication' error, your disc is protected, and in that case, we can't help you.
