iso - no layer break?

Hi guys!

Here is a problem.

I'm trying to record some personal stuff to DVD+R DL (memorex. Yeah, I know verbatium and +R is better, but it was a gift). It's not a movie, just bunch of files - .avi, .rar etc. So I'm using "build" mode - and it creates .iso and .mds (on HDD), but doesn't propose me to choose a LB point (that window doesn't appear at all). Well, ok, decided to try any way. Recorded. Verification failed on 50%.

BUT! All files open and seem to work ok on the dvd-rom I used for recording (pioneer 212D) and on elder dvd-rom (pioneer dvr-108) as well. Disk is a "backup" (or "storage") for PC only, not for home dvd players.

So here are my questions:

1) why no LB point? Should it be like that or what do I miss?

2) should I trust this disk and say it's readable? Why verification failed?

ImgBurn 2.3.2.0.

Thanks in advance!

You only need to select a layer break if there's DVD-Video content to be burnt. For normal data, it's calculated automatically.

Please post the log from that burn (Help/ImgBurn logs), as it has important information that we could use.

By the way, you can burn directly to media with Build mode (no need to build an ISO image first) by choosing 'Device' in the 'Output' menu :)

Letty, If you pick the MDS file to burn with IMGburn then all will be well as the MDS file contains the layerbreak info for your DL disc. The reason for the failed verify is most likely because that Memorex blank is dye type CMC MAG........ utter crap. Honestly mate, buy a verbatim DL blank and do the burn again, you will verify this time, 99.99999% for sure. Your burner couldn't read back the info it just burn't to the blank disc hence the verify failed message. :) As for the burn being readable, maybe, but guaranteed in about 6 months, it won't be because of the degradation of the cheaper memorex disc. We always reccommend Verbatim dual layers to burn to, there're the only ones that work proper...... ;)
