Benno Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Guys, I'm new to the game, and trying to down load digital camcorder movies via my PC (Windows XP, windows movie maker), and burn it onto a DVD so I can play it on a regular read only DVD player....can any direct me to a site, or advise via the blog how to go about this.....I can burn the DVD and play it on the PC, but can't get the DVD to play on the DVD player!!! Help.
dontasciime Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 have a look at the guides section and if your using dvd+r set the booktype to dvd-rom if your writer allows this.
digidragon Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Setting a booktype of DVD-ROM won't help if his DVD player won't read DV-AVI files. He'll need to convert the file(s) to MPEG-2 and author a DVD.
dontasciime Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Indeed. camcorder movies hard to say what format they will be / windows movie maker not sure what format they can output as / save as , so yeah convert them to mpeg2 to be DVD compliant.
LOCOENG Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I have a JVC HDD camcorder and use DVD Flick to encode if there isn't any fancy editing to do and then use Imgburn to burn...they come out loverly. And since the HDD is recognized as just that in My Computer I can work straight from it without having to capture anything first.
