Alice Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Hello, I am a newbie, just learning. I read many pages and searched, trying to find this out but so far haven't found it. I have a movie I'd like to burn to a DVD but the total file size is something like 7.4GB, and the DVD is only 4.7GB. Since I don't have a dual layer burner and no clue how to use one, is it possible to use two discs instead? If so, could you please point me to directions? Thanks for your time.
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 It's easy enough to do but an even easier and better option would be to compress the video data so that it fits onto a single disk. http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&...earch&meta= EDIT: We do not support this software. blutach Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Or, if you wish to keep menus (on both discs), try VobBlanker - guide on site. Regards
burf Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 (edited) @Alice - you failed to mention the format of the movie. Is it avi, vob (DVD), mpg, etc? If it's avi, you can easily split the video into two parts, with any number of programs. VirtualDub would be a good choice. Other formats have programs, too. The key is, how important the video quality is. The more you shrink the size, the lesser the quality. So, if you don't mind 2 dvds, then just splitting it, rather than compressing it, would be your move. -Or- you can use a program like ConvertXtoDVD, to convert it to one of your DVDs.
