Hi folks,

New guy here. I run a small, new non-profit to help spine patients, and I just finished my first documentary on spine patients. I am trying to copy the master DVD and having issues.

I am using XP and Nero Ultra 7 (newest version, downloaded today) and an LG External GSA-E40N Super Multi-DVD writer. I am trying to copy a 6 Gb high res video; but it fails. As well:

- the error message is “burn process failed at 4X”, even though I nearly complete the entire process.

- I am using Memorex DVD + R DL that are new.

I called LG and finally got through to a support person. They said that Memorex DLs are known to have a high failure rate; they recommend Verbatum instead. As well, they said that Fiberlink PowerDVD software with a slower speed may help too. I read somewhere that ImageBurn may be better (or the best) at handling DL writing...but don't want to keep downloading software.

Can you provide some insights into a solution to the problem? Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. In the meantime:

- I explained the problem to Circuit City about the Memorex issue. Didn't get much TLC, as I expected.

- I tried the burn again, at 2.4x speed. Still did not work.

- But I did print out the error report and attached it.

Is this a software issue -- one that could be solved ImageBurn? How can I narrow down the diagnostic options? If anyone can interpret the errors, you'll have my undying support. :D

Right. I was hoping to find out if ImageBurn can address these tricky problems. If the best guess is that I can, then I'll be an ImageBurn user.

Thanks and sorry.

Apart from Ner0 being a bloated piece of junk, you've already been given the right advice - ditch the Memorex garbage and buy some Verbatims.
