Mark57
Might be that it created an .iso file? I ran DVD Flick using a second copy of the movie file. It completed but when I tried to play back the new AVI movie there was no sound and the pictures were all scrambled, a lot of different colored squares. Nothing I have tried, ImgBurn, DVDFlick, DeCrypter seems to be able to allow this movie to be burned to a DVD that can be played on a DVD player. Any other suggestions from you or anyone else? Thanks for trying.
LIGHTNING UK!
DVD Flick doesn't make AVI files, it makes IFO/BUP/VOB files (i.e. DVD Video) - well, ASAIK anyway! If the picture is scrambled then perhaps the source file is encrypted and therefore cannot be converted/burnt to disc. Are you sure the source file isn't locked down by DRM? I am not sure, but I was able to copy the WMV file from my HDD to a DVD and it will play in any computer that I have tried. DVD Flick made a MPEG file not an AVI, sorry for the wrong information. When I check the properties of the movie file and click license, it doesn't show anything.
LIGHTNING UK!
As I say, DVD Flick's final output it supposed to be IFO/BUP/VOB files in a DVD Video folder (called 'VIDEO_TS') which then gets burnt with ImgBurn. I don't know where the MPG file comes into it, maybe it's just a temp file.

Mark57
Looks as it crashed before it was done. What's in the errorlog.txt file? I took a downloaded MPG movie and ran it through DVD Flick and it converted it so I can play it on my DVD player, but when I install it in my portable DVD player I get a message that this type of disk cannot be played. Cynthia
10:23:58 PM: -1 from EncodeAudio: Audio encoding failed. There is a later version 1.3.0.4 that includes some bug fixes, might be worth a try to use it. If you still get a crash, post in the DVD Flick forum about it, they should know more about the issue. I tried 3 different WMV files on DVD Flick each one took over 7 hours to go through the process. When they got to burning the disk with ImgBurn I kept getting the following error message for the first 20% of burning "Failed to write sectors xxxxxx-xxxxxx Reason: Write Error Retrying 1 of 20. After it got past sector 379935 it continued and then said it was complete. When I put the disk back in the computer I got asked what I wanted to do with the empty disk. An explore of the disk showed nothing on it. If ImgBurn showed successful completion, where did the files go??

LIGHTNING UK!
Did we already have the conversation about write once media working better than rewritable stuff? If not, you can probably guess what it would be about. Burn onto some decent DVD+R or DVD-R from Verbatim / Taiyo Yuden. Burn at 8x or 12x. Update your firmware to YH14. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...227&os=2093

The movie was converted and burned but the replay only shows a lot of colors but no actual picture. The AVI format movie I converted and burned had no problem. They were both downloaded movies. These are the files that were made. The Audio_TS folder was empty.

Mark57
Convert the AVI over to video files using DVD SANTA. Then build the image with ImgBurn. Works every time for me Thanks for your input. The file I am working with is a purchased, downloaded WMV movie and DVD Santa will not convert it to another format. I tried several other conversion programs and they will not convert it either. The closest I came was with DVD Flick. It converted and burned to disk using ImgBurn but when I went to play it on the DVD player it said the disk could not be played. When I tried on the computer all the images in the movie were scrambled.

Guzeppi
DVDFlick is not meant to remove DRM copy protection on " purchased, downloaded WMV movie ". And from your experience it is obvious that it cannot. Again... its copy protected!! DVDflick is not built to circumvent such protection, and so you got a scrambled image, so why keep trying with DVDflick?? I assume (from what I've seen in this forum at least) that the author of ImgBurn does not wish this to become a discussion on the removal of copy protection, which is what this topic will become. There are programs which "play" the file and allow you to "capture" the images being produced in real time. But they're not related to Imgburn or DVDflick. Search!! PS Apologies LUK!, we must have been responding at same time... yours was much more concise Edited November 3, 2008 by Guzeppi
