drmax Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I'm not at my computer and last night fighting an issue, which I think is a media issue. So I ask, where is the log file, or error message stored on the IMG progy, as I can then post my question with the log file and show you folks my problem? I can not copy the message as it appears when it happens. Thx

Cynthia Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 The first one that fails. As you can see there are no speed descriptions after the Disc ID. More or less - your writer doesn't support that brand of discs with the currently installed firmware version. I 04:48:43 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: SONY16D1) The ones that worked: I 09:22:04 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: MCC 02RG20) (Speeds: 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x) You might want to try to install a later firmware version that might support that brand of discs. http://www.sonynec-optiarc.eu/en/support-s...-nd-series.html

mmalves Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I 22:16:05 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) (Speeds: 4x, 8x)I 22:16:05 Write Speed: MAX Low quality media, try burning at 4x and it may work. Get high quality media such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks and you won't have burning problems again
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 and try to figure out why your machine can't maintain a steady stream of data for burning at 8x. It's not good to be running into buffer recovery all the time.
