Ron Lowe
Hi, all. I'm ripping single-layer DVD+R data disks to ISO files on disk. I choose a filename, eg Image.iso. However, it does not create Image.ISO. It splits it, creating: Image.i01 at 4,194,302 KB; Image.i02 at 395,522KB and the .mds file. Why does it feel the need to do this? It's a single-layer original. ( Yes, I can change the option to 'never split'. But I thought the 'Auto' logic would have correctly identified a single-layer original. ) Will this split image correctly burn back onto single-layer blanks identical to the originals? Thanks, Ron Lowe Here's the details of the original disk copied-and-pasted from the status window: SONY CDRW/DVD CRX835E KDKE (ATA) Current Profile: DVD-ROM Disc Information: Status: Complete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Sectors: 2,294,912 Size: 4,699,979,776 bytes Time: 510:00:62 (MM:SS:FF) TOC Information: Session 1... -> Track 01 (Mode 1, LBA: 0 - 2294911) -> LeadOut (LBA: 2294912) Track Information: Session 1... -> Track 01 (LTSA: 0, TS: 2294912) Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Disc ID: RICOHJPN-R03-04 Book Type: DVD+R Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,519 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 Edited December 11, 2008 by Ron Lowe

Ron Lowe
That's exactly it in one. I was ripping to an external FAT32 drive. My normal data drives are all NTFS, so I simply didn't stop to consider this. I guess the image will be re-assembled correctly when I select the .mds file to burn? Many thanks -- Ron
