Booktype DVD+R DL problem

Hi again.

 

I'm trying to backup a movie into DVD+R DL because my DVD+R discs are all used up and I still have some DVD+R DL left. Normally I only use DVD+R and I don't have any problem with changing the booktype to "DVD-ROM".

 

It's my first time to write the image file to a DVD+R DL. I changed the settings to "Drive (For DVD+R Media)" and "DVD-ROM", but the resulting booktype of the disc is DVD+R DL. I can play the backup in my PC but not in my DVD player.

 

Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):

Disc ID: CMC MAG-D02-00

Book Type: DVD+R DL

I highly doubt it doesn't play because of the booktype. Did you let it verify after burning? The log from that burn could help (look in Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs).

Problem solved.

I should have chosen "Drive (For DVD+R DL Media)" instead of "Drive (For DVD+R Media)" for DVD+R DL discs.

If you add your burner name under the real OEM in the advanced section of the Book Type dialog then ImgBurn will automatically set the booktype to DVD-ROM for you
