dbminter Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I need some recommendations for AV software. Freebie prefered but I'll check out any lead. I need a scanner that is very similar to ZoneAlarm's, meaning I can configure it to let me decided what I want done with a positive scan. No auto delete crap, unless I set it to auto delete the file. I'd prefer a quarantine option or something where I can undo a delete if it turns out to be a false positive. Thanks!
mmalves Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I'm using NOD32 4.1 because it's very fast (you almost don't notice it running) and it asks what you want to do when a suspect file is detected. If it can't be cleaned, the file is moved to quarantine and remains there for as long as you want. Never had a false positive with it. It's not free but if you want to test it send me a private message and I'll hook you up
Cynthia Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I've tried a lot of various products over the years. This one works for me. It's free. Also includes a fire wall. http://www.comodo.com/
