Cynthia
How do you know it's not a virus/malware? So far nobody that got several possible suggestions posted in other threads bothered to come back, so who knows it's not?

chewy
For some unknown reason the author of the program thinks it's a rootkit http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=&...ost&p=92788

Shamus_McFartfinger
Try an online virus scanner and see if that helps. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
txnhockey
Just to let you all know. I was getting the same problem. Nothing could burn - Nero, CD BurnXP, etc Ran AVG Rootkit, it found 2 hidden driver files and renamed them on reboot. Ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.38 and it found 26 infect files associated to the SKYNET Trojan. Every program burns now, no problems. Thank god ImgBurn actually has a useful console or I never would have known why my drive was not being seen
eSkRo
looks like AVG Anti-Rootkit might be a winner!!! Edited June 18, 2009 by eSkRo
LIGHTNING UK!
That's weird too because it dates back to something like 2007!
