Ensuring even cd dvd r rewritable , in case of writing to disc failure

Recommended Posts

Hi,   I would suggest ensuring of cancelling all the process of writing to disc, in case of failure either manual or external or error. Instead of closing and finalising the failed writing, i suggest a total roll back to enable to use the cd dvd for further tries.

Normally files could not be burned on already written cds if it is read only. But suppose, a person has to retry and retry by adjusting some of the format or speed or something, then the cd or dvd should be totally spared to enable the user to use it. I have tried to copy larger files to 8.5 dvd dl , but due to some software update errors and write speed , i have to throw away the dvds with no further usable data to read or write.

Of course, support imgburn did advise on the update of the drivers and also the wrtie speed to complete the task. But  so many 8.5 dvd dl went waste in the process. I would appreciate imgburn , imagination in this regard would be wholly welcomed by its user. What a wonderful free programme

You can't 'roll back' discs unless they're rewritable - and even then it's only cd-RW and DVD-RW that need to be erased before you can try writing to them again.
