AeroMonk Posted March 13, 2014 Share Posted March 13, 2014 No matter what I try, I can't get it to burn. Setting up the files was fine, the problems began after I clicked the "Build" button. Here are two screencaps of the error messages I received: I know you would want a logfile, but I accidentally closed ImgBurn before I could get it. I really don't want to have to waste another BD-R disc, just to get that logfile (I've already wasted 6 discs by trying to resolve this by myself). AeroMonk Posted March 18, 2014 Author Share Posted March 18, 2014 I bought a new pack of Verbatim 25GB BD-R Model 97238 - and burned with one of them at lowest speed possible (4x). I still encountered the same problem, so something else must be wrong. I know it's easy for people to just say - "Oh well, it's probably a bad drive, so go buy a new one." The initial error (before any retries take place) is the important one in these situations and it's weird that you're getting the one you are ("Invalid Address For Write") as the initial error... that's not what I'd call 'normal'. LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 19, 2014 Share Posted March 19, 2014 Normally it's always preceded by a 'Write Error' or similar error. Then as the program attempts to retry sending the same 'Write' command again, *that's* when it would normally get the 'Invalid Address For Write' error. I'm wondering if something else installed on the machine (filter drivers etc.) are swallowing the *real* (first/initial) error message and ImgBurn isn't then seeing it. It basically means the program is asking the drive to write to somewhere it can't. Writes should be sequential and due to cache in the drive, the bit on the disc it's physically writing to doesn't match up with where the program thinks it's up to - hence you get an 'Invalid Address For Write' error when it retries. All I ever have is the Verbatim Model 97238. So, at your request, I just ordered some "Memorex 25GB 2X BD-RE Model 05502" discs - they should arrive on 3-25. It turns out all my blu-ray burner needed was to be cleaned - I ended up using a Blu-ray drive Laser Lens cleaning disc. Everything works fine now.
