Playback issue at layer change

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else encountered this before? I burn my iso movie file to a BD-R RE DL, Verbatim of course, and it completes fine. The issue is playback, at the layer change it stops and sometimes will continue on a whole chapter afterwards or the Bluray player will stop playback altogether.

Not sure if it's a known issue or I'm doing something wrong.

Any suggestions appreciated.

cheers.

I'd say it's just having trouble reading the disc.

Could well be the case. I don't have another blank bluray disc to test it. but every movie I burn that is a large iso does the same thing. Bluray player has the latest firmware... shame, I like Samsung Bluray players.

Does the disc verify ok after the burn or have you disabled that step? It would be nice to see the log.

I tried the verify disc after burning the image and it failed.. Here's the log.

It seems to be happening on all images I burn to Verbatim BD-RE. Not game to try it on a normal BD-R DL and waste a disc.

I don't know if it's the disc or the drive. I need to get another couple of rewritables to test and if they all do it, it must be my pioneer burner. Burner has the latest firmware Pioneer has released.

It's nothing to do with what you're burning to the disc, the disc itself is just unreadable after the burn.

How many of the BD-RE disc have you got / tried?

It might be worth doing a full format on it and see if the same thing happens.

Until you burn and verify a disc without any issues, I'd forget about worrying about it playing back or not.
