It looks like there's some issue with the eject/load on your system.

What message do you see in the status bar of the main window?

There isn't a single difference in that section of code between 2.5.5.0 and 2.5.6.0 so it's not that.

There's a PL03 firmware update available for your drive btw - http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/iHBS112%2B2/files.html

Service Pack 1 is also available for Windows 7.

There are no settings to check, your system is just hanging on a very basic command that it shouldn't be.

Can you please right click the drive drop down selection box and click 'Family Tree'. Close the prompt and copy+paste the info from the log into your reply.

After that, burn another disc with I/O debug mode enabled to capture additional info.

To do that, just press the F8 key before you hit the 'Write' button.

You should see an entry in the log window saying it has been enabled.

Save the log once it's stuck at the 'cycling tray' bit and upload it here on the forum (don't copy + paste debug logs please).

I 07:45:29 Device: [5:0:0] ATAPI iHBS112 2 PL03 (E:) (SATA)

I 07:45:29 Family Tree:

I 07:45:29 -> ACPI x64-based PC

I 07:45:29 -> Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System

I 07:45:29 -> PCI bus

I 07:45:29 -> Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller (VEN_10DE&DEV_0AD4 - NVIDIA)

I 07:45:29 -> IDE Channel (ATA Channel 3)

I 07:45:29 -> CD-ROM Drive (ATAPI iHBS112 2 ATA Device) (Channel 3, Target 0, Lun 0)

Right so you have an NVIDIA chipset motherboard.

I 07:53:59 [5:0:0] ATAPI iHBS112 2 PL03 (E:) (SATA)

I 07:53:59 CDB: 1B 00 00 00 03 00

I 07:53:59 CDB Interpretation: Start/Stop Unit - Load

I 07:54:00 [5:0:0] ATAPI iHBS112 2 PL03 (E:) (SATA)

I 07:54:00 CDB: 00 00 00 00 00 00

I 07:54:00 CDB Interpretation: Test Unit Ready

Ok so this is the important bit...

The program instructs the drive to load the tray and it's returning success. It then asks the drive if it's ready ('Test Unit Ready' command) and it's not getting a response - meaning it just sits there waiting.

I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about this issue, it's not my issue to fix.

Personally I'd be looking at drivers (sata controller and any filter drivers you might have).

Try installing these - http://www.geforce.com/Drivers/Results/14875

Try again in safe mode and see if that makes a difference. You could also try it from inside Windows XP with the help of Hiren's Boot CD.

i was able to come up with a workaround/fix,,,my storage drivers were in AHCI mode,,,so i just went back to SATA drivers and everything is working as it should. looks like the drivers are not working right in AHCI mode
