Worked previously, now multiple errors

I dont usually burn DL media, but i have made 3 discs successfully before with the same burner/media combination. Now though my last 4 burns all failed. Tried one file twice, and 2 other files. They get to 50-62% and fail.

 

these are 2 of the logs, the other 2 didnt show up in the log file for some reason.

Get rid of the Ritek-D01s and buy Verbatim MKM-001, 2.4x Made in Singapore.

 

Update your firmware to 1030 - see here.

ImgBurn 2.4.0.0 has been released now, you might like to update it. :thumbup:

 

updated firmware to 1030 and imgburn to 2.4.0.0, still same error with 2 different files. going to pick up some verbatims in the next few days, hopefully fix it. thanks for the help and sorry for the trouble

Hey, another new one here wondering if you could help out. I used to use dvddecrypter with no problems, but then it started bugging and I switched to imgburn. Still problems. I used to use Memorex, Philips, HP, and Verbatim disks with no problems. Now I have two kinds: HP and Fujifilm. Both don't work. I use an HPdvd1040 burner. Here's a recent log of a burn which quit real early, instead of the typical 100% and then fail to verify burn.

I also had a friend who once had this problem. He says the program doesn't recognize the media, and I need a patch of some sorts to get it to work. Neither of us are too tech savvy, so there's little help there. Anyone know of this simple fix? Forgive my greenhorns.

You're burning at 20x there which is actually 4x over the rated speed.

 

Slow the burn down to 12x (or 16x tops) and you might be ok.

 

If you configure the 'Automatic Write Speed' feature (as per the Guides), you won't have to worry about things the next time you burn media with this dye.

2 things not in your favor on that last log, first the brand of discs, they're not goodicon_no.gif and another thing is USB burners sometimes have dramas burning

 

but hey best thing is like Cynthia said narrow down the field, try updating the drivers for the burner and if that doesn't work try changing the brand of discs ;)

I can't even complete the first step of the instructions: "Click Start , Programs , Hewlett-Packard , HP DVD and then choose HP DVD to start the HP DVD Writer menu of software selections." There's no "Hewlett-Packard" section of my start menu.... argh! I'm gonna try to burn once more with a Verbatim disc, and then I'm gonna email HP to see what's the deal with my installation and firm-ware.
