Unpredictable "Logical Block Address out of Range" errors

Hi,

I'm having a problem burning DVDs. More often than not, I can't get my DVDs to burn complete ISOs to Sony DVD-Rs I have (I've also tried Memorex DVD+Rs). Writes fail at random points burning the sessions - but only sometimes. I've posted a log below. Is this a media problem or a DVD burner problem or what? I had updated my DVD burner's firmware, and at the time that worked - I burned 7 DVDs in a row, no problem. Then I burned 10 more the day after and only 2 worked. I need to burn these for work - please help! Thanks.

Also, if this is just me using second rate DVDs, please advise on what format and brand I should purchase. If this is a DVD drive problem, do the same. Thanks.

TBH your drive could probably use replacing. You could spend $15-$20 and try a tub of Verbatims or you could spend $25-$35 on a new burner and probably use the discs you already have. As for format, I prefer +R but everyone is different for different reasons and we only recommend Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden.

What brand do you recommend I purchase? Also, it'd have to be something I can pick up a Staples, Best Buy, or Circuit City as I can't wait for something to be mailed. Truth be told, after these are burned, I probably won't ever need a DVD burner again so anything I can do in the way of a short term solution would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Additionally, having read through a few other posts, should I turn down the burn speed? Would that make a difference in reliability of burns?
