That doesn't change my answer. The way you've got it configured will make it fail like that.
-
That's because you've messed around with the settings. Put the layer break option back on calculate optimal and load the .dvd file rather than the .iso to configure it correctly. You still won't be able to burn that image properly though, it's too big to fit on the disc.
-
You'll never achieve what you want. The lowest speed the DVD+R format really every supported was 2.4x. What makes you think you must burn at 1x anyway?
-
No, you can't make a drive do anything it doesn't want to and yours doesn't want to burn at anything other than 4x or 8x.
-
Try some other discs.
-
You don't need to 'extract' anything, you can just use copy and paste using Explorer. If you want to take an actual image of the disc and then burn it to a normal sized dvd, use Read mode and then Write mode. Btw, your forum email address is no longer valid. Your topic subscription emails are bouncing back.

What does a kprobe scan of that disc look like? Reset imgburn back to the default settings, you don't need to touch anything to get s burn that works fine. Clear the drive's OPC history and try again. That disc is unreadable long before the layerbreak, which is where these things usually fail.
-
I never said it could do both at the same time

has the development of imgburn stopped?
LIGHTNING UK! replied to doctorman's topic in ImgBurn General
No, not stopped, I've just been busy with other things and it's not easy to work on it at the moment. -
Change the platform ID to the right one and select the appropriate boot image. The guide is just older than the app version that should have added support for making EFI bootable discs.

Device not ready (no reference position found)
LIGHTNING UK! replied to kellrobinson's topic in ImgBurn Support
If you post the log, I can probably clear this up in 2 seconds. -
Creating an empty root folder, then add folders beneath it.

Once you're in 'Build' mode, switch to the 'Advanced' input method and then it should be easy / obvious to do what you want within the 'Disc Layout Editor'. -
PROBLEM BURNING DOUBLE LAYER DISC [MEDIUM NOT PRESENT]
LIGHTNING UK! replied to RAZ1795's topic in ImgBurn Support
Load ImgBurn, switch to 'Write' mode and keep an eye on the messages that get displayed in the status bar when you insert the disc. When you first insert it, it should say it's in the process of becoming ready. After that, it'll either work or fail. The messages should be straight from the drive so it must be faulty if it can't see the blank discs or something else is messing with things. -
help - Retry Failed - Reason: L-EC Uncorrectable Error
LIGHTNING UK! replied to drtran's topic in ImgBurn Support
Is the disc dirty or scratched at all? Try cleaning it. If you have access to another drive, try reading the disc in that. Some are better at reading problem discs than others. -
wanted to donate, but why you need further authorities
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Erhy's topic in ImgBurn General
Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about. You donate via PayPal. If they're telling you that then it's down to them. It's nothing to do with me. -
windows 7 prepared .iso, verify fail
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Lagrenouille's topic in ImgBurn Support
The image isn't the problem here. Try doing a full erase on the discs and burning them again. Try at 4x too rather than 2x if you haven't already done so. -
If it exists, it'll show up. Make sure you've configured Explorer to show file extensions of all files. Usually, problems like this are caused by files having 2 file extensions.... so they look like one thing but are actually something else. You can always switch the selection box to show all files and pick it that way, but that just confirms what I've said above.

Connect Filters(source,sample grabber) Failed
LIGHTNING UK! replied to David Zhu's topic in ImgBurn Support
It's quite a basic method of displaying track names. Don't expect Unicode support or anything! -
Does ImgBurn support setting layer type? - Continued
LIGHTNING UK! replied to navpoint's topic in ImgBurn Support
How weird, I wonder why I'm not outputting the 'layer type' value with all of the other 'Physical Format Information' for DVDs?! I thought that chunk of info in the box on the right contained pretty much everything returned in the descriptor (and that's what I based a previous reply to the other guy on)... I guess it doesn't. I'll correct that. -
Oh I see. From experience, I can tell you that some drives will just work for the RNS-e and others won't. Luckily, I have more than 1 drive. I think the Pioneer drive I tried at the time didn't work, but an Optiarc one did (or vice versa). These were (are still relatively) current models from said manufacturers.

Stopping using Verify because it has picked up on problems with the disc doesn't make those problems go away! I hadn't Googled your drive before my previous post... now however, I can see it's a slimline drive. I don't know if any of those can produce a decent/working oversized burn. The drive accepting the 'payload' doesn't mean it'll actually work.
-
I've never heard or seen anything doing what you're talking about. Don't overlook the fact the post you linked to was talking about BD media. No such field exists for DVD. I think your issue may lie elsewhere. What exactly are you trying to burn, onto what type of discs and what's the playback device?
-
Reset ImgBurn back to the default values. You don't need to touch anything in it to get a working burn. Configure your drive so that Force Hypertuning and Smartburn are ON. Turn Online Hypertuning and Overspeed off. Clear the drives OPC history *ONCE* having done that and then don't touch it again. The drive uses that info to improve your burns, don't keep wiping it out! Burn at 4x. btw, old logs can be found via the Help menu in the program. Do remember that not all drives are capable of producing good quality burns when overburning DVD+R DL discs.
-
I think you're talking about the book type / bitsetting. Yes, ImgBurn supports that and sets it to DVD-ROM automatically for most drives. It's a function the drives need to support though, there's no 'standard' way of doing it.

Problem creating CD w/text to play in car CD player
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Biggilb's topic in ImgBurn Support
Windows media player doesn't display cd text unless you install a 3rd party plugin. http://bmproductions.fixnum.org/index.htm?http://bmproductions.fixnum.org/moreprogs/wmpcdtext.htm What you're seeing from it when you insert that shop bought disc is data from the Internet.
