  1. Remember the old favorite " Read the Guides " nobody ever did so telling everyone to not mention the unmentionable will it work =))=)) =)) ow my sides hurt

  2. reminds me of when we were going to the firing range in the military they showed us a steel helmet that was shot by a 30-30 a .30 odd 6 and an M-16 round a .223 the .223 because of its tumbling action blew a hole in the back of the helmet that was unreal a large jagged hole .The .22 because of their light weight will penetrate and then when they hit bone are deflected off in another direction get hit in the shoulder and they can find the fragments in your thigh .The .50 cal is really for going through steel, walls, trucks anything .I got to fire a stoner .50 cal rifle all I can say is amazing

  3. Thanks for the uick reply, but I am in front of my work's PC now, the drive is seen in XP (OS that the system's running), but it cannot be recognised in Imageburn. What can I do?

ask your self do I need this job and will they fire me when they catch me doing stuff thats not related to my job If they have it set up so that they can monitor what each employee is doing on each computer you might find your in the soup

  4. Lick ,Decrypter was discontinued for legal reasons it had its own forum to discuss Decrypter but thats no longer the case. This forum IMGburn supports burning iSO's and we wont discuss Decrypter, ripping ,copy protection ,none of that . Its unfortunate but again for legal reasons thats the way it is sorry

  5. saw the men have to shave after I reread it, I havent drank in 15 years so I'm safe there, its the ladies that say hi and drop hints about what size ring they wear and swear they love you. Hell I dont even know your last name and only met you 10 minutes ago .I have a knack /curse for going somewhere and meeting women that are absolutely crazy and want to tell you about their screwed up lives
  6. Appreciate the info, polopony.

Has Taiyo-Yuden been known to use bad dye? Reason I'm asking is here Meritline and it sounds too good to be true, but Meritline offers good customer satisfaction.

I remember about a year ago reading that Ricoh had a bad rep with their media, but don't remember if anything was said about TY. I heard that after the scrutiny, RICOH RIDATA brand got their rep back and I've had good luck with them. I usually can get 100 for $36.99 US with free shipping and rarely have a bad burn.

    Meritline

I started checking them recently with DVD Info Pro and the results are fairly good overall, though I'm just starting to learn to read the graphs.

Meritline is a good company and I've bought my blank media from : them for years .John in tech support is especially helpfull and they stand behind everything they sell

  7. power calibration is where the drive samples the disc and sets the laser power level for the proper burn .I'd try using a disc type cleaned for the laser it might be dirty and the source of the problem, otherwise the drive may be on the way out make sure that your firmware is up to date.As said the Ritek d/l's arent enjoying the same success as say the single layer riteks .I did burn some Ritek GO4's a couple of years ago and they still work fine

  8. Not trying to get off track here, but I have been curious overall about the +/- thing. when I started burning I got + (4.5's) and had dubious success. Then I was told that - works best in most players. I haven't tried DL yet, but am still using DVD-R's (Ritek Ridata's, though you have been putting doubts in my head recently)

its not so much the +/- thing but the dye manufacturer . Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim with the mcc dye being the best. Reading back + discs isn't what it was most new players handle it fine its the old players that were a problem and in some cases + wasn't supported at all .To reiterate even the best and most popular "brands " can be crap its the dye .You can find out who the dye manufacturer is by putting a blank or written disc in the BURNER and reading the info window see the disc ID Taiyo Yudens

  9. the DL discs that have a high success rate are not the - DL's . Verbatin + DL's are the way to go ,really high success rates I think most if not all here use them, everything else is a gamble .Use IMBburn to burn them and you wont have any problems .The layer break will be in exactly the right place also

  10. I started with princo they were crap and if how hard I threw them away means anything they might still be in orbit

  11. Chewy ,those old Memorex and the new Memorex discs are still made with CMC MAG dye and its been said here on the IMGburn forum and the other one thats shut down probably 1000's of times dont use discs that are made with CMC MAG dye if you want to be able to read them a few years from now its not reliable . Try reading them in a burner but I suspect that you're screwed sorry about that and I hope its not data or anything you cant replace
