@PM It is not offensive to call us Aussies. Jesus, we do our own fair share of name calling - "Pommies", "Septic Tanks", the list goes on. Don't fret. Regards

@PM - it happens to all of us. Sometimes, we let our fingers go overboard, when the brain has no real intention of saying what the fingers type. And some people can take offence. Case in point - I said something the other day that could have offended corny. It was wrong and I apologised. We move on. No-one across the Internet can see your expression or read your face or hear the tone of your voice. They can therefore not engage in a meaningful debate without some interpretation from their side. And sometimes, things go awry. We move on. I have no idea what precise threads you are talking about here. Personally speaking, I recall differences of opinion we had regarding firearm laws and some other matters but that it all. But what I recall more, is the fond way you are regarded here. So, for God's sake, don't take it too seriously. Let's move on. Happy thanksgiving to you and yours, and to all our US members, guests and friends. Regards

No doubt. He's there. Quick, get the RPGs Regards

Welcome to ImgBurn Forum. The media is OTP. Is there any PTP media around? If so, I haven't seen it. As for your authoring issues, split a cell - this can be done easily with VobBlanker or DVD Remake Pro. Regards

And Ner0 STILL can not technically set a layer break right, despite you paying for the privilege of owning it. And if you can't be farked to try a bit of freeware and compare, you're just stirring. Regards

LOL Ken I doubt we'll see 36 today, either - maybe 26 or 16, but not 36! Jason - check out AlexNoe's famous LG bitsetting utility, which loads at startup. Works 100% of the time. http://www.alexander-noe.com/cdvd/bitsetting/index.eng.php Regards

Do you have a splashkiller running? The theory behind them is they take splash screens and shove them elsewhere in memory - off the screen. Sometimes, the progs do not return gracefully, however. Shut down everything that is not essential. ALL startup items, including stuff from the registry (use Start - Run - MSCONFIG for this) and reboot. Good luck. Regards

I sense the mantle is passing from volvo to me. Too cold for stubbies Ken. Get any snow the other day? Regards
-
Do you have Data Execution Prevention on perhaps? Maybe try in safe mode Regards

If the subbies are on all the time, you'll need to re-author the DVD before burning it. But it sounds as if your burning issues may be behind you. Regards

I get the general idea spinner - that LFC chappie was castigating moi for asking for a freebie from mrdvd. Regards

Relax LFC, it's just a bloody ASPI driver (and the one I have since not even 4.6 worked on this machine) Regards

Go see a doctor then, and bloody well stop whinging! Regards
-
And with your graphs, cruley, it's a must! Regards

OK, the drive is recognising the media at its full size, but ..... For some strange reason you have made an ISO with DVD Shrink!!! (Why use DVD Shrink for a dual layer DVD??? It CAN NOT make a proper layer break and it's function is to reduce the size of a DVD, which you clearly do not need here!!!!). Go back to your original files and use ImgBurn in build mode. Regards
-
Cut the first 5 Mb of it. That will include the FS. Regards

Rather than a huge bmp (a PNG is better), a log would suffice. You have crammed in too much data most likely and it can't find a proper point for the layer break. OR Your blank is not being read properly and your drive is misreading the number of sectors (we saw this a few yimes with non Verbatim media). Post a log please. Regards
-
Plus that ASPI version is known not to be the best - 4.6 or even Nero's aspi is better. Regards
-
CC will only have cheap shit. Stay away from there. Regards

More to the point DrByte, we can not help anyone here who is involved in ripping DVDs. I am sure you know that. Regards

I must add that I have not purchased the ebook, but the stuff on DVD Replica is very useful and should suit the OPs needs. It also has some great free stuff like the VM command generator. Maybe MrDVD can provide a book to evaluate (hint hint)? Other stuff that is of great value includes Jim Taylor's and Ralph La Barge's works, and of course all the free stuff in the public domain - the patent, for one, the stuff at ECMA/OSTA and even the stuff at the DVD Forum.
