Having XP on that boat anchor of a PC is risky at best. A wonder it boots at all. It's time for a new machine Guto and donate your machine to a meseum

Sorry we are being a bit obtuse, but we can't help with the backup process, only with the burn.
Let's assume that somehow you got a set of files, data or video, layerbreak or not, it doesn't matter. To burn them, just follow the guide about build mode.

Welcome to ImgBurn Forum.
ImgBurn simply writes files to disk and does not get them from your DVD to your PC. You need to have the files on your hard disk first.
In terms of build mode, please read the illustrated guides in our guides section. They go over all your queries, including setting the layer break.

@LUK!
Before pressing "burn", I used to check what the LB looked like (nervous nellie that I am). It had written to that field (via CLI). I guess after closing the prog, the settings revert to calc optimal?

The only time to use "User Specified", IMO, is if you build the image already - eg in PgcEdit with mkisofs and you just wanna burn. In that case, I know PgcEdit passes the LB info on thru this setting. But do ensure it is turned back to "optimal" later.
Also, looking back at my first post - it was kinda silly (this is not unusual ). Inserting 16 sectors of padding is useless, since the original LBA would be a multiple of 16.

Don't have 5c. Firey took all my cash (as is usual!) She did leave me with 2c to continue posting here though, if that helps
Plus the verify settings page has too much spare space

It's just a regular DVD with no extras (thank God) and muxed at or near the highest mux rate (9.8Mbps). Often almost a constant bitrate of around 8Mbps

Inserting 2c.
Of course it takes little processor, but some folks might wanna set their priority.
Bloody run outa time again. You're a shyster Shamus!
