  1. Not quite sure what you mean? Just choose your drive tab, in the 'change for please select' area, choose drive (for DVD+R Media) In the new setting drop down menu, choose DVD-ROM, and that's it, you should get a 'success' message.
  2. Try it in Power DVD, MS Media player is terrible with DVD's.
  3. Why on earth would you have gone back to 2.06? Anyway, did you reboot after the last flash? There is no reason why you shoudn't be able to flash it back to 2.1B.
  4. It looks like you didn't give your drive a chance to verify the disc, does this one play? If not, get yourself some verb +R DL media, they are the only ones that seem to work right.

    Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday Zac, have a good one mate.
  6. Even tho the log shows finalization, it doesn't seem to have worked, you can try to close the disc manually via the tools>drive>close option. Also, there is a firmware update your drive that may fix the problem. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?cate...p;manufactor=23
  7. Well, if this disgusting behaviour goes on, it can't be very common. I served my time in the Australian army in the early 70's, and I NEVER even heard of such thing, let alone take part or witness it.
  8. Tom, as usual, we need a log to see what's going on. (The complete log please.)
  9. Well, to me, it's all lip service. If people in Australia stoped smoking, drinking (alcohol), and driving a car, the Government would be bankrupt tomorrow. It is mind boggling what they collect from these 3 things every year.
  10. You're dead right, I have no idea what the hell you just said.
  11. This one here gets me, you would think they would convert the fucker to nuclear power or something.
  12. No, not at all, I was just joking.
  13. Yeah, the format of the disc won't help the quality of the burn. The only thing that comes to mind, is that you can try using better quality media, TY's or Verbs with MCC dye. Perhaps a log from ImgBurn? We may be able to advise you further.
  14. It may also help to lower your speed to 4X on a USB connection.
  15. You can hardly blame the poor bugger.
  16. Ah, ok, thanks for coming back to me, although I would have thought that the verification would be more due to media related issues, and maybe drive rather than anything else. Anyway, good luck with the new gear.
  17. What happens if you don't restart the computer just before the burn? Do you make coasters?
  18. Trust you LFC to take a subject of the rails. Well, 24 hours and no response, I guess I'll just have to hang on to my ball a bit longer.
  19. After looking into my crystal ball, this is what it said. You are using media that has supported speeds above 4X. You have got your burn speed set at MAX. At 6 to 8% of the burn, the drive is trying to kick into high gear (above 4X) At this stage your buffer is emptying due to DMA problems, (Read the FAQ's on how to rectify this) A log will either confirm the above, or, force me to throw my ball in the rubbish.
  20. No two drives are ever the same, even the same make and model, he could be running a different firmware version to yours, and many other things on his machine could also be different to yours.
  21. We need a log as mentioned, there is a good chance it is due to poor quality media, the log will confirm this. Also, forget Realplayer, it is shite for DVD's, see if you can get Power DVD, or media player classic to play DVD's on the computer.
  22. If I'm not mistaking, ImgBurn does not support MODE2 type burning. The boss may verify this though.
  23. I dare say the verification would have been shite too. @LFC, about 3".
