  1. New drive: HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH16NS40 (LG) Writing Ritek DL disc. Wrote same data folder (though things will have changed since previous) Worked with verify. YAY. ImgBurn_LG.log
  2. That is true and it was also for the original post of the Pioneer drive.
  3. yes, directly to disc. the ones with the pioneer -- i was testing using a ISO file. Not sure why you're saying that the logs posted were for the MKM-001 -- the last was for the Ritek. I am trying to remove the previous log file so the one in the folder is always the latest.
  4. None the less, that one completed. 8X write speed ImgBurn-Ritek-DL.log
  5. well, it's not only open but changed since written. Understand about the Ritek. It's what i had. I will have to order new. First one I did that worked was a Verbatim, I think -- at the 2.4x speed. I have not bought DVDs for quite a while.
  6. My "8x" were RITEK-S04-66. And I never learn from mistakes. Had one of the files open so -- can't verify, I suspect. Duh.
  7. I think I have some 8X discs. I'll try. plus still have to test out the Blu Ray
  8. Decided to test a DVD+R DL with the ASUS drive. Was successful. See attached log. Ignore first times as I kept opening one of the files which would certainly fail verify. ImgBurn_DL.log
  9. First of the new drives arrived ASUS BW-16D1HT -- wrote a DVD-R successfully and verified. YAY
  10. Prices I've seen for the NS60 range upwards toward $200 USD. If you can even get them. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/7608316749240681/ ($194 USD) BH Photo Video expects them to be in stock middle of June 2023 but will only sell in multiples of 10 ($75 unit price) And then we have the ebay: LG WH16NS40 Flashed to WH16NS60 Firmware v1.00 4K UHD FRIENDLY MAKEMKV & DVD FAB Is this a joke? https://www.provantage.com/lg-electronics-wh16ns60~7LGED052.htm ($976) Okay, enough searching the internet.
  11. We will see. One is on order -- will be here later this week. Crossing fingers and paws.
  12. A question on Amazon asked the difference and the answer was "speed" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CJV9KPL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/LG-Super-Internal-Blu-ray-Rewriter/dp/B00E7B08MS/ref=sr_1_3?crid=28MOH8CNBNZBJ&keywords=WH16NS40&qid=1682803074&s=electronics&sprefix=wh16ns40%2Celectronics%2C215&sr=1-3&th=1
  13. So the Pioneer drive is on its way back to Amazon. Do you have any opinion on the WH16NS40 vs the WH16NS40k? I can't find the WH16NS40 vs the WH16NS60 anywhere i feel comfortable from ordering from (yet) I burn so seldomly. It seems like the Pioneer and my old original Toshiba/Samsung drive burned properly but wouldn't verify.
  14. As far as I can tell, the "driver" for the DVD/CD/x writers are Windows version from 2006. One of my software cleaners updated it to 2013. I downloaded some "driver updater" software -- it did not find any newer suggested Driver software (i.e. from Device Manager, etc) Pagosa Springs is on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains, about 25/30 miles from the New Mexico border. Arvada and Westminster are much closer to Denver, what we call the "front range". Thanks for your answer.
  15. In looking at buying a new DVD writer off Amazon, I keep seeing that they support Windows 8, 7, XP but don't mention Windows 10. How important is that? Will they usually work on Windows 10? Of course, I notice that ImgBurn thinks my Windows 10 OS is Windows 8.
