  1. Gotta support this request. I've been wishing ImgBurn's build mode had buttons to silently create temporary .IBB files and add them to either build or burn queues. The intermediary steps between here and there of having a build queue at all and being able add .IBBs to the burn queue would be great features by themselves.
  2. i have ripped one of my hddvds to hard drive using anydvdHD.... can someone tell me how to use imgburn to create an iso of those files?
  3. I just installed Debian etch on a second machine I plan on using as a server. So I figured I would give ImgBurn a try with Wine,so far it looks as good as my Ubuntu set-up. This is the first time running Debian so there is a bit of a learning curve and more testing to do. So far the only difference is that during the install it does not create a desktop icon, no big deal. When I get a chance I will post some screen shots.
  4. In build mode, goto the 'Advanced' tab, then the 'Bootable' one. Point it to the floppy disc image and tell it to emulate the 1.44 FDD. Add your other files to the 'Source' box (back on the left side of the main window) and then burn. So long as the floppy image loads cdrom drivers you'll have the ability to access the files you added to the 'source' window once you've booted from the bootable cd. If you don't load cdrom drivers you'll only be able to access whatever was in that 1.44mb floppy image. If you have a floppy disk you want to make an image of, ImgBurn can do that too, just use the 'Create Boot Image' bit at the bottom of the 'Bottable' tab.
  5. Hi all.... I am attempting to create a bootable CD. I have a bootable floppy disk (DOS, Ghost, etc). I also have a image of the floppy disk that I created some time ago with RawWriteWin. Since none of the laptops we buy these days have a floppy drive, I would love to be able to create a bootable CD based off of this floppy disk... I am confused on the steps to do this.... Thanks much! David
  6. I am new on this forum, but I have been working on a standalone GUI app to control the Sony changer for the past few weeks and using ImgBurn for some time. Rather than rebuilding the entire wheel Lightning UK could add the capability to run an external utility from the queue (if it's not already present). There are several utilities that can handle the changer control part of this including mtx and mediachanger.exe. This woudl allow users to could create a sort of 'script' using the queue and by using the CLI utilities to change slots they would get full use of the changer. I'm all for a UI, but in conjunction with your queue mechanism you would probably get flexibilty that would require more work in a GUI (for example the ability to target disjoint slots or make varying numbers of copies of each image). This could prove to be very useful... Using this method would also free Lighning UK from having to support what could become a growing class of devices in the coming years. Having said that, how could I become a part of the Beta test group ? [i am dying to play with this] PS: ImgBurn is a truly excellent product and everyone should donate.
  7. back to basics an ISO is just a handy container for almost all image files to be DVD compliant the files within the ISO have to be VOBS,IFOs,BUPS ect ect Imgburn will build you a dvd and burn it if you only have the VOBS,IFOs,BUPS files ( or just create an ISO of it onto your hdd for you if you choose) in WRITE mode it will burn any ISO's you have on your hard drive to a disc BUILD mode eliminates the need of having to create an ISO to your HDD before you can burn it to disc Build mode will either create a dvd compliant disc ( providing all the required files are there to start with, OR it will create a DATA disc of any kind of files you want or have , but if they aint DVD structure compliant to start with, ImgBurn wont convert them. If yoiur struggling timewise with convertxtodvd try something else, personally i find it the fastest encoder there is . i also use ImgBurn to burn the disc in BUILD like LOCOENG does. I have to agree with you, the GUIDES section in the online support is not very good . it didnt even tell me how to switch my computer on before i chose one of the ELEVEN !!! guides to use go read this page GUIDES PAGE ----- CLICK HERE and all will be revealed PS. dont forget to switch your PC on first , as the guides dont tell you that bit
  8. I use ConvertXtoDVD to create my DVD files from avi or other formats and then manually burn with Imgburn in build mode. Never faced any problems with file compliance via this method. Alternatly you can use DVD Flick in the same manner as ConvertXtoDVD, but it will create the ISO for you and then simply put the ISO into Imgburn in "write" mode. viola! But of course check out the guides, they will prove to be more than helpful.
  9. hi i recently tried adding different ibf/vob files together to create a new copy of mixed video files from different sources. i created a video_ts folder in my desktop. i then opened up different sources i had copied and added files from each to the folder. it goes well, except it won't accept the same numbered files in the same folder, even though the file is a totally different one. if you could find a way to make these files co-exist in the same video_ts folder to then build or burn w/imgburn that would be awesome. i guess you would have to manipulate imgburn so that it won't reject same numbered files w/different footage.
  10. I downloaded Img burn and one problem there is no clear online help that i have found. maybe i missed it. first off when you use the "build" function on Img burn does the build feature support VOB file format? I did a search on this and no support on the forum. if Vob is supported then how do i combine the vob, ifo, stream info's into a ISO file to be burned to DVD format? i tried to do this but img burn only converts the vob file only not the ifo or stream info. so the iso file is imcomplete. the image need to have all 3 files together (vob, ifo, stream) to create a complete ISO image. i even tried to pick the ifo file and tried to build it and "img burn" converted that file in only 3 seconds because ifo files are only 3k in size. now i know this process did not include the massive 3 gig vob file. for example, i have used "convert x to DVD" program and this does convert Vob to dvd format with no problem, it just take very long, as well as this program also supports "mpeg4" - "divx" and so on. and again instantly converts to DVD. but when i used "img burn" the dvd was screwed up due to lack of complete files. does the "build" function support other file formats such as "Divx avi" or "mpeg4"?
  11. 'Create MDS File - Auto' will cause ImgBurn to make the MDS (You DO mean MDS and not MD5) if the image is DL sized OR under 1GB in size.
  12. After reading through some of the posts, I *really* feel dense; I cannot figure how I use ImgBurn to create an ISO from a group of (random) files> Where can I find the 1-2-3's of this process? Regards, Chuck Billow
  13. single layer disc = 4.38 gig capacity dual layer disc =8.5 gig capacity If the dvd you're trying to copy is a commercial dvd (movie ) with copyright protection then IMGburn will NOT read the dvd to your hard drive . Put your disc in the burner choose create iso from disc then post the log its the window below the main IB window ,simply copy and paste the info to your next post
  14. You sure? I have read that with Xbox 360 samsungdrive and NME images you have to use DVD+R DL bitsetting... DVD-ROM is for hitachi iXtreme.... Quote from a forum: Sidenote: If your Xbox360 is equipped with a Hitachi drive then you don't have to change the booktype necessarily as this one can handle the booktypes DVD+R DL and DVD-R. For Samsung drive the booktype MUST be set to DVD+R DL. Anyway we suggest to always change the booktype to DVD+R DL because what if you are going to take your legit backup to your friend to play it there and his Xbox360 is equipped with a samsung drive? It won't work there. And this is one of the main reasons to create a backup, to not to carry your expensive original game around with you and possibly damage it...
  15. I have an .iso of a dual layer DVD. I do not have an MDS for it. How do I find the correct layer break and create an appropriate MDS file using the .iso?
  16. I tried ImgBurn after something efd my Nero installation and it has worked wonderfully. I normally burn data CDs and "normal" single layer DVDs of either +/-R varieties and have had no problems or coasters. YEA!!! Thanks for making such a great product. I have burned a few DVD DL discs without incident. On 2 occasions i have wanted to burn a DVD DL and i got a message similar to : No Layer Break Point has been found. Start crying as this really is the end of the world! It did not open the dialog box to allow me to make/choose one. I did burn it anyhow the first time i got this message and don't recall any problems playing or viewing the disc.. But getting this with a different fileset it made me wonder. My information file tells me where the LBP should be. How can i enter this manually to create a LBP? Is there a way? According to the info i received with the video_ts folder and files says : LAYER BREAK CHAPTER MARKER - 00:46:27:19 I went ahead and clicked to burn it and then a dialog opened to show me a LBP, however, it was at 00:56:57 rather than the position in my info file. It showed no other optional LBPs. This is the second of a 2 disc set. The first disc was fine as it found the layer break point and also several other possibilities for one. Neither of the discs are copy protected in any way. RasViKing OOPS! the data i posted there was from the first DVD which had no problem finding the LBP. Once the burn on this one is finished i'll open the log and post that info if it is needed. sorry.
  17. I tried that and it didn't work. It gave me an error that said "Invalid or unsupported image file format". I used Daemon Tools Pro to create the image and I've successfully mapped the image as a drive. So the image apparently works, I just can't get it burned to a cd.
  18. You don't play online then mate ? I always update so that I can and I haven't seen any issues with Fw2.0 in fact it's a very nice update for me with themes and the ability to create your own with icons etc for the XMB bar
  19. The MDS contains the LB for the ISO, yes. I don't think it matters whether you delete it or don't create it in the first place - I haven't tried this method yet, by the way, and I have a feeling that the seamless flag in the IFO files may not be changed anyway. Give it a try. Regards
  20. Thank you Tach. I thought the MDS contained the layer break for the ISO? Or is the LB also stored in the ISO? Do I need to create MDS file or can I select under "read" settings to not create an MDS?
  21. Hi, I just got a new PC so I downloaded the latest version of ImgBurn (2.3.2.0). On my previous PC, I was using DVD Decrypter version 3.5.4.0. With that, I had it set up to copy a DVD to my hard drive in the form of .IFO and .BUP files. Then I would use CloneDVD2 to select menus/sound, compress, and write to DVD. I can't get ImgBurn to Read and create the IFO files. Only to create ISO. How do I set up ImgBurn? I've read through the 'guides' forum and the FAQs and used the Search option and found no help. Thanks.
  22. No, i mean a different thing. Let say that i want to burn a DVD that it'll contain directories from two different hard drives ( C: & D:). TC doesn't let me select directories from two different hard drives simultaneously, so that i'll have to do it this way : First i'll select directories from C: and then i'll execute imgburn /SCRLIST "%L" to create a new project with these directories. I'll have to repeat the process with D: directories and execute imgburn /SCRLIST "%L" again, but these directories should be appended to the previous ones, to create only one project with all directories. Thank you
  23. Hi , i'm a newbie about IMGBURN but i'd like to add multiple files/folders to IMGBURN from TC. Total Commander can create different types of lists : Which one do you think is the best for IMGBURN ? In order to be able to launch IMGBURN from TC i must configure TC this way : and IMGBURN will recieve this (TC'll change file names so that CMD8A.tmp is not a constant) : I've been testing and it doesn't work, if you introduce /SRCLIST switch may you consider to also accept .tmp files ?. It may be a good idea also to create an /SRCLIST APPEND switch, to append different files lists to the same project. If i only use ImgBurn.exe /SRC "C:\BackupProject.Txt", will IMGBURN use all my other current IMGBURN settings or i have to add other switches to command line ?. I've tried Imgburn /SRC "C:\LIST.TXT" (executed from command line) and IMGBURN starts in buildmode, but it doesn't assume each line is a folder, only C:\LIST.TXT appears on source, what am i doing wrong ? Thank you very much for such a great program .
  24. Hello I have just replaced decrypter with image burn and the program is great. When I use dvd shrink after the disc has been scanned then opened I backup the file and chose the option create iso file and burn with decrypter. Once the backup is complete decrypter would start burning. With image burn the option to burn automaicaly is no longer there. I have to back up the file them manually start image burn. Is there a way to have shrink recognize image burn as the replacement for decrypter. I would appreciate any help for this problem. Thanks
  25. I think this question has been asked before, but I didn't see a clear answer. I am getting a "cannot replace or create file, access denied" error as I try to burn a dvd. I dont' know if my settings are not correct or what. What would be the best setting to handle most types of dvds, and how do I get rid of the error? (I did all of the things mentioned in a previous thread of similar circunstances. Any help would do. I have copied the log to show what is happening. I don't know what any of this stuff mean.
