Normally the overlays thing only has to be disabled under Vista and that's done automatically. Any idea what graphics card you have? Are you running the latest driver? I have an Alienware laptop that I bought 2006. It has an Nvidia 7800 GTX graphics card. I have the 84.63 driver for it. I've seen some higher driver versions for this card but their not from Alienware so I'm a little concerned about using them.
