Australia changes Daylight Savings Time?

So, Australia just arbitrarily decides to change Daylights Savings Time merely for the sake of some games? The Commonwealth Games, I think? Someone care to explain this one to me?

Who the fook knows? Queensland (where I am) doesn?t have daylight savings at all. 2 of the reasons given when the daylight savings debate raged 10 or 15 years ago was that it:

A:- Causes curtains to fade

B:- Stops milking cows from sleeping

Somewhat locally, they did stupid things with this stupid clock changing, too. Some areas of Indiana who weren't on it suddenly decided to switch to it, some that were decided to go off it, and some changed when the clocks actually change! The entire reasoning here, as I guess it is there, is so businesses will have 1 more extra hour of virtual daylight, thus tricking people into thinking they have an actual extra hour. Thus, they have 1 more hour to be out spending money at their stories. Idiots!

Here in Oz we have three time zones as it is, can you imagine the confusion when daylight savings kicks in? it is not a national thing as shamus mentioned, WA and Queensland do not have it.

As there is 2 hours difference between east and west, daylight savings stretches it out by another hour making it 3, so if you wanted to talk to somebody in perth and you were in Melbourne, it's no good trying before 11am Melbourne time.

Fuck, by that time you had forgoton what you wanted the person for.

Bloody stupid, it should be all or none.
