I have burned 10-20 DVD9s in 'build' mode using an external DVD burner , marked as device "[0:0:0] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GE20LU10 FE06 (K:) USB". Every time I burn a DVD9 in 'build' mode I get an error about L0 data zone capacity miscompare. I'm using Verbatim media which I'm also using on a different computer with an internal burner and I've never had any issues there. I have not noticed any issues with playing the discs but I am getting a little nervous about the warning.

Sample log is enclosed. I think the log shows all of the steps I'm doing, including the fact that I am selecting a layer-break position from the options that ImgBurn offers. This is what appears to be later flagged as 'miscompare' and readjusted.

I'd be very grateful if someone can explain to me what is causing the warning and what can I do to address the problem.

Thanks.

Update ImgBurn and try again.

Oh and it's good practice to never ask for help with old versions of programs.

Update, see if it still happens AND THEN report your problem.

Oops. Thanks for the quick response. I will upgrade to the current version and report back.

Downloaded and installed the current version and burned my first DVD9 - and the problem persists. Log included below.

Considered doing this?

As for your L0 miscompare - reset your default settings.

Put that disc back in the drive and copy + paste the disc info from the panel on the right.

Shown below. Interestingly, it shows the original L0 Data Zone Capacity of 1,940,048 . I'll let LUK interpret what that means.

Also, in response to Blutach, I keep AnyDVD disabled except when needed. It has positively been disabled for the past few days.

Ok so at least the LB was moved eventually, even if the drive didn't report it as such the first time around.

You'd be helping me out if the next time you burn a DL disc you press F8 before clicking the big 'Write' button.

That'll put more info into the log and it might just enable me to tweak my code incase I need to wait a bit for the drive to set the LB position and it's not returning the error codes that make the current version of ImgBurn wait.
